Dark Fusion Boutique

Lucretia*Renee is the owner of Dark Fusion Boutique and co-founder of Serpentine- Fire Fusion Bellydance Troupe, Portland, Oregon. Her artistic career officially began in 1998 with gallery shows at the prestigious Quartersaw Gallery which was located in the Pearl District in Portland, Oregon. After years of oil painting and attaining a BFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art, her attention was drawn to performance. She taught herself the art of firedance and performed regularly at various Portland venues from 2001-2004. To enhance her dance even further, she began Neo-Tribal Bellydance classes taught by Jane Archer and later began performing as Serpentine in 2005. Inspired by theatrical performances, she began designing costumes for her personal use in Serpentine. In the fall of 2007, Lucretia*Renee created her clothing line, Dark Fusion Boutique, which was featured in two runway shows in 2008. She maintains an online shoppe: www.darkfusionboutique.etsy.com

Lucretia*Renee’s clothing design style was initially inspired by her many years of performing in theatrical firedance and bellydance productions. She began researching and developing costumes that were striking, accentuated dance movements, and durable enough for repeated use on stage. Currently, her clothing design style is a delicate fusion of (upscale) gothic, Burningman, tribal bellydance, circus, burlesque, vaudeville, and steampunk. Lucretia*Renee's favorite materials to design with include: stretch lace, brocades, satins, cottons, knits, fur, ruffled lace, ribbons, and trinkets. What makes her clothing unique is her form-fitting and sexy placement of seams, layered fabrics and textures, and her feminine twist on the fetish aesthetic inspired by the art of dance and the Goddess.
